Try it with your yard photo
What the preview can and cannot tell you
It can show
- ways the same yard could look in a different style;
- materials, colours and plant forms to discuss with a landscaper;
- a before/after pair you can use as a style brief.
It cannot show
- dimensions: paths, beds and patios are not to scale;
- a plant list with species, counts or spacing;
- whether plants suit your zone, soil and drainage.
A photo that gives a useful preview
- Stand at eye height, about 1.5 m (5 ft) back from the area you want changed.
- Fit the whole space in the frame, including the house wall or fence edge.
- Shoot in daylight; a flat, evenly lit photo gives a cleaner concept than a night or flash shot.
Every preview is generated for your own photo; we don't publish other people's yards.
What happens to your photo
Your photo is resized in your browser, then sent to the image model provider, fal.ai, only to generate the preview. This site does not save the photo. See the privacy policy.
Next step: a plan you can measure
The preview is a look, not a layout. For dimensions, plant counts and spacing, use the scaled garden planner. The render vs plan page explains the difference between the two.
Questions people ask
Can AI redesign my garden from a photo?
Yes, for a visual concept. Upload a photo, choose the space and style, and an image model repaints the scene. It cannot measure your yard, so treat the result as a style reference, not a plan.
Is the preview to scale?
No. Camera perspective changes how wide paths and beds look, so the image carries no reliable dimensions. Measure the space and use the planner for a to-scale layout.
Can I keep my house, fence and trees?
Two checkboxes are on by default: keep the house and fence unchanged, and keep existing mature trees. The model usually respects them, but check the result before relying on it.
What happens to my photo?
The photo is downscaled in your browser, then sent to our image model provider, fal.ai, only to generate the preview. We do not save it on this site. The privacy policy has the details.
Can I get a plant list from the preview?
No. The image does not identify species, counts or spacing. Use the planner to get a to-scale layout, a plant list with quantities and spacing, and a planting order.
